February opened with the final Genesis Legendary Airdrop, marking the closing chapter of the Legendary distribution phase. Ten STEPN Genesis holders were randomly selected to receive soulbound Legendary Sneakers on Solana, with eligibility tied to both holding and active participation. By requiring recent Energy usage, the airdrop reinforced STEPN’s core philosophy: rewards favor active movers, not passive holders.

The Legendary rollout continued with a dedicated BNB Chain Legendary Auction, featuring five Legendary Sneakers. Distribution was handled via NFT ticketing, with rewards delivered directly in-app to original auction winners. Even non-winning bids earned rewards, maintaining engagement and reinforcing the long-term, phased Legendary release strategy across realms.

Community recognition also took center stage with seasoned community members starting to receive Legendary “Connoisseur” Badge, celebrating long-term dedication within the STEPN ecosystem. Players shared their four-year journeys, highlighting how STEPN has evolved from a simple “move-to-earn” concept into a mature, multi-product ecosystem focused on sustainability and long-term utility.

Seasonal events brought additional energy to the app:

- For Valentine’s Day, Cupid’s Legendary GGBoxes rewarded active users through stacked participation mechanics - from Energy usage to Genesis holdings and GGBox activity - with prizes including Legendary Sneakers, GGUSD rewards, and exclusive in-app backgrounds. The format encouraged deeper ecosystem engagement rather than single-action participation.

- A playful Friday the 13th “STEPN Luck” event invited users to share failed Gem and Raw Stone upgrades for a chance to win GMT, turning unlucky moments into community-driven content.

Looking ahead, the team teased upcoming developments on the Marathon Challenge side, hinting at collaborative features and team-based mechanics in development.

To ensure major announcements receive the attention they deserve, Townhalls will now move to a bi-monthly format, while monthly ecosystem recaps continue as usual, maintaining transparency while increasing signal quality for major updates.

February marked a significant evolution for GGBoxes.

The GGBox Airdrop went live for GGUSD holders, powered by Polygon, with prizes including GGUSD rewards, merchandise coupons, and rare Genesis Sneakers.

Most notably, Marathon and Alpha GGBoxes were officially migrated into standard GGBoxes, consolidating the system into a unified structure. Holders received equivalent allocations post-migration, and unopened rewards from legacy boxes were added into the standard pool. Including high-value items such as Genesis Marathon Sneakers, Rare Dragon Sneakers, and even Xbox Series X.

This consolidation simplifies the user experience while increasing prize density within standard GGBoxes, strengthening the system’s long-term sustainability and clarity.

Cupid’s Legendary GGBoxes further demonstrated how seasonal mechanics can layer on top of the core system, temporarily transforming boxes while preserving underlying value.

Community creativity and real-world engagement remained central throughout February.

The STEPN GO Street Hunt continued with Week 4: Gold, followed by Week 5: Cupid Pink, encouraging participants to walk outdoors, capture themed objects, and share their discoveries across X and Discord. Winners shared 2,000 GMT weekly prize pools, reinforcing consistent outdoor activity.

Mid-month, Street Hunt Round 2 began with a new format focused on shapes, kicking off with “Circles” and continuing the mission to blend movement, creativity, and social sharing.

February concluded with a festive Lunar New Year GPS Drawing Contest, inviting users to head outside and “draw” a horse using STEPN’s GPS tracking. The lighthearted challenge rewarded one participant with 2026 GMT and showcased the playful, community-driven culture that continues to define the ecosystem.

Across regions, these initiatives reinforced STEPN’s real-world presence: encouraging outdoor activity, creativity, and social connection beyond the app itself.

February demonstrated how the FSL ecosystem continues to mature: Legendary distribution advancing in controlled phases, GGBox systems consolidating for long-term clarity, and community events bridging digital rewards with real-world movement.

With Marathon developments underway, seasonal mechanics proving adaptable, and Street Hunt expanding into new formats, the foundation for a dynamic 2026 continues to strengthen.

Community Events:

Offline community engagement also accelerated throughout February, with multiple in-person activations across Japan strengthening STEPN’s real-world footprint.

The month began with the STEPN Relay Marathon at National Stadium in Tokyo, bringing participants together for a large-scale endurance event that blended competition, camaraderie, and community celebration. The relay format emphasized teamwork and collective momentum.

Momentum continued with STEPN BOOST Kyoto, followed by STEPN BOOST Osaka, two city-based activations designed to energize local communities and reinforce STEPN’s movement-first identity. These BOOST events created accessible entry points for both long-term users and newcomers, combining physical activity with ecosystem engagement in iconic urban settings.

Together, these events reinforced STEPN’s expanding real-world presence, bringing the community together beyond the app and turning movement into a shared, on-the-ground experience.
