October was action-packed across the FSL ecosystem, with special Halloween events, exciting new features, and key partnerships. From STEPN’s spooky ritual and coast-to-coast achievements to Gas Hero’s intense gameplay updates and global meet-ups, our community celebrated Web3 and fitness together. Here’s a look back at the month’s highlights!
STEPN
During the October Townhall, the STEPN team shared exciting updates, including details about the upcoming Halloween Special and a hint at new resilience gems, promising intriguing gameplay developments ahead. The Halloween Special invited players to help Frankenstein’s Monster return to life by performing a ritual to summon his Sneakers. To complete the ritual, participants upgraded specific gems – Luck, Comfort, Resilience, and Efficiency – in a particular sequence. For their efforts, forty lucky winners would receive Frankenstein’s Monster OG Sneakers. The event runs until November 2, and players sharing screen recordings with #STEPNstein can enter for a chance to win.
STEPN GO
October was a landmark month for STEPN GO, marked by exciting partnerships, new features, and memorable community events. One of the most iconic collaborations was with Snoop Dogg, introducing 800 co-branded Genesis Sneakers in two volumes. The first volume, running from October 28-31, features daily raffles of 100 Sneakers on X (formerly Twitter). The second volume, available from November 4-8 on MOOAR, includes a special “Bonus Track” collection with exclusive Parental Advisory designs, priced at 15,000 GMT per ticket.
In another significant collaboration, STEPN GO teamed up with adidas to bring their iconic Supernova Rise sneaker design into the game, merging real-world and digital experiences. As part of this partnership, a giveaway allowed players to own a limited-edition STEPN GO x adidas Genesis Sneaker.
A new feature, the Gift Bag System, was also introduced this month, making it easier for users to share energy by generating a unique QR code. This feature allows recipients to access temporary Sneakers and energy to try STEPN GO, while sharers earn a percentage from the recipient's first Sneaker purchase and future trades, creating an easy entry point for newcomers.
October also saw a landmark moment with Nels Matson’s coast-to-coast run. Covering over 3063.5 miles in 46 days 17 hours and 26 mins, Nels dedicated each mile to the memory of fallen Navy SEAL Chris Campbell, raising funds for veterans. Supported by @jusup11 and the STEPN community, this incredible journey was marked with a giveaway for a rare, exclusive 1-of-1 STEPN GO NFT Sneaker. To commemorate the journey’s end, fans gathered at Fort Lee Park, NJ, joining Nels for his final stretch and celebrating his remarkable achievement.
MOOAR
MOOAR also had an action-packed October, beginning with their achievement of reaching 100,000 followers on X. Celebrations continued with The Sandbox Raffle Mint, which ran from October 1-4. Thirty-four Regular LANDs were up for grabs, and winners also received exclusive The Sandbox x Adventure World merchandise. October saw a major collaboration with Angry Dynomites Lab, where MOOAR introduced ADL gear in MORCHI and held a Raffle Mint for Water Dyno NFTs, along with unveiling MORCHILand’s 4th Masterpiece.
MORCHI itself achieved significant milestones in October, including its launch on HyperPlay and the introduction of a twice-daily leveling-up feature on October 15. In addition, October 31 marks two key deadlines: the MORCHI Burn Deadline at 00:00 UTC and the MORCHI Snapshot between 00:01 - 23:59 UTC. In yet another milestone, MORCHI reached 5 million transactions on Polygon. The Vampires VS Zombies Halloween event, launched on October 15, added a spooky flair by allowing users to mint a Vampire or Zombie MORCHI, with over 1,600 Halloween MORCHIs minted so far.
October wrapped up with several exciting raffles. The Metopia Raffle, featuring 10 legendary and 40 rare MORCHIs, is currently underway, with entries priced at 1 $SUT and running until October 31. Meanwhile, the King Kong of Skull Island Raffle Mint, running from October 29 to November 3, offers five Premium LANDs and seventy Regular LANDs, with premium winners receiving signed merchandise, including a book, poster, and co-branded boxing gloves.
Gas Hero
October was an exciting month for Gas Hero, featuring new gameplay updates, spooky skins, and engaging community contests. Teaming up with Sunflower Land, Gas Hero introduced six special spooky skin Evolved Heroes, each with a 15% attribute boost. These limited-edition heroes include Raven (Codename: Deadly Nightshade) and Pumpkin Pete (Codename: Red Mercury). The event, which launched on October 28 and runs for four weeks, allows players to breed and burn heroes to unlock these exclusive skins.
During the Gas Hero AMA, the team outlined its long-term vision, focusing on a collaborative, strategy-driven gameplay experience. Announcements included the removal of the energy system, streamlined guild structures, and a gradual learning curve for new players. Gas Hero’s October events also included a special raffle for Treasury Fragment holders from October 21-23, where participants could win a STEPN GO x G-SHOCK Genesis Sneaker by staking multiples of 60 Treasury Fragment NFTs. Meanwhile, the Design the Next Boss Mode contest encouraged players to get creative, submitting their ideas for a new Boss Mode in the Octagonal Arena. Three winners each received 500 GMT, and the top 100 Total Strength players were rewarded with Super Useful Eggs (SUE) on October 10, with rewards scaling by ranking.
FSL Offline Events
In October, STEPN hosted 6 IRL events worldwide, bringing runners and Web3 enthusiasts together. A highlight was the Dubai event at Blockchain Life, where CEO Shiti connected with attendees at Festival City Mall, joined by Firelauncher, for insights on Web3 and blockchain. In Tokyo, FSL co-founder Yawn and MetaXN joined fans at Japan’s National Stadium for a relay marathon, giving participants the thrill of running alongside STEPN leaders in an iconic setting.
Other events included a Moscow Park Walk with games and chats featuring STEPN champions Elena PashaEva, Dr. Aksenov, and NEIV; the “Grandma’s Tales” trail race in Grodno, Belarus, where Tatsiana led runners through scenic forest trails, with live music adding to the atmosphere. In Barcelona, Firelauncher and other Champions joined fans at a community meet-up focused on networking and tips. Finally, the Azuga Trail Race in Romania brought participants together for a scenic mountain run, led by Cio Silv.
