STEPN: A Step-Tacular Start to the Year

STEPN and STEPN GO kicked off the year with a celebration of its 2024 journey, unveiling personalized #STEPNRecap24 reports for its users. Users were encouraged to share their recaps on X, tag friends, and stand a chance to win exclusive engraved Sneakers. From January 3 to January 12, the air buzzed with stories of resilience and triumph, culminating in the distribution of unique prizes that were tailored to winners’ chosen words—a testament to STEPN’s community-first ethos.

Adding an element of surprise, STEPN airdropped exclusive badges to all users, reflecting the Energy they spent in 2024. Whether you were a Sloth or a Cheetah, these badges became a fun and creative way to showcase achievements and engage with the community.

STEPN also brought its partnership with adidas to a grand finale, offering users the opportunity to redeem co-branded Ultraboost 5 physical shoes with the STEPN logo branded on the side. With four exclusive designs and a redemption process on MOOAR, the campaign underlined STEPN’s ability to merge digital and physical worlds together. 

Meanwhile, the STEPN x Player Zero Raffle Mint provided a thrilling opportunity for users to secure digital shoes designed for Player Zero avatars, along with limited-edition MORCHI wearables. The event, which ran from January 27 to January 31, attracted a wave of participation, showcasing the community’s enthusiasm for collectible digital assets.

STEPN’s dedication to community engagement was further demonstrated through the Resilience Gem burning event on Discord, where users burned their gems to trigger a triple burn by the team. STEPN also celebrated milestones like Firelauncher’s 100th marathon, gifting the inspiring runner an Exclusive Blaze Runner Sneaker while encouraging the community to share their stories of resilience.

Finally, to celebrate the Lunar New Year, a GPS Drawing contest was hosted on January 29, inviting users to draw a Snake using their STEPN and STEPN GO GPS while running for a chance to win a STEPN GO Shoe Box.

Gas Hero: A Year of Growth and New Beginnings

Gas Hero celebrated its first birthday on January 3, marking a significant milestone in its journey. The anniversary was accompanied by a reflective AMA featuring Mable Jiang, who shared insights on the past year’s highs and lows, as well as the exciting future of the upcoming game mode: 2184. The AMA revealed significant updates to the game’s mechanics, including changes to asset tradability and the introduction of unsellable items that enhance the core gameplay experience. These updates underscore the team’s commitment to creating a more accessible and engaging environment for players.

This month also featured the launch of the Battle Pass System in the Gas Hero 2184 alpha drop. Designed to cater to all players, the system introduced a Free Pass and an Elite Pass, offering unique in-game rewards through daily and seasonal challenges. Players holding Gas Hero Badges received additional perks, such as faster progression and enhanced rewards, emphasizing the value of long-term engagement.

In another exciting update, the Guild System was introduced, fostering social interaction and collaboration among players. With features like guild creation, recruitment, and team challenges, the system aims to enhance the game’s social aspect while encouraging teamwork and strategic play.

To top it all off, Gas Hero launched a Rebirth Campaign, inviting the community to rename the game and offering 2184 GMT to the winning submission. This initiative not only engaged players in the creative process but also reinforced the collaborative spirit that defines Gas Hero’s community.

MOOAR: Driving Innovation and Engagement

January was an innovative month for MOOAR, with the platform introducing several features to enhance user engagement. The launch of the NFT Referral Feature allowed users to earn FSL Points by sharing and promoting NFTs on social media. This innovative system rewards users for their contributions to the ecosystem, creating a win-win scenario for buyers, sellers, and referrers alike.

The introduction of the Quest Feature added another layer of excitement, enabling users to complete tasks and rise up the leaderboard. Partnerships with MegaETH Labs and DeLorean Labs brought exclusive allowlist opportunities, showcasing MOOAR’s ability to connect its community with cutting-edge projects in the blockchain space.

Meanwhile, the Sol Slugs x MOOAR event offered a unique minting opportunity for NFT enthusiasts, with increased chances for Genesis Sneaker and Sol Slugs NFT holders. These initiatives highlight MOOAR’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and rewarding ecosystem for its users.

GMT Pay: A Vision of Real-World Utility

This month, FSL unveiled the waitlist for GMT Pay, a groundbreaking feature that bridges the gap between Web3 and real-world utility. Powered by FSL's commitment to innovation, GMT Pay enables users to seamlessly turn their GMT and GGT earnings into real-world purchases. At its core is the GMT Giftcard, a virtual Mastercard available in denominations of $50, $100, $200, and $300, which provides global accessibility for both online and offline transactions. From buying coffee at a local café to shopping on Amazon, GMT Pay makes digital earnings practical and versatile. 

The platform also introduces compatibility with Apple Pay and Google Pay, further simplifying mobile transactions and ensuring secure payments at millions of merchants worldwide. Ahead of its public launch, early adopters can secure priority access through the waitlist at fsl.com/gmtpay, heralding a new era of Web3 integration into everyday life.

FSL ID: Expanding Horizons

FSL ID took a giant leap forward this month with its integration into Dormint AI. This partnership enables users to track their sleep cycles and earn rewards through Sleepcoin, demonstrating the versatility of FSL ID across different applications. To celebrate this integration, a campaign was launched offering users the chance to win 10,000 FSL Points. Additionally, participants who signed up with FSL ID were granted access to the Dormint platform’s $DOAI airdrop list, adding yet another layer of rewards and excitement. These efforts underscore the expanding utility of FSL ID and its ability to enhance user experiences in novel ways.

GMT DAO: Empowering the Community

The GMT DAO kicked off the year with a historic milestone: the burning of 60 million GMT as determined by the first DAO vote. The DAO also launched its second vote, giving users the power to decide the next big development update in STEPN.
